EMU Athlete Ese Brume Leaves Behind Turkish Record Holder

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) athlete Ese Brume and coach Hasan Maydon are continuing their training in İstanbul. Ese Brume competed in the 60 metres final of the Turkish Indoor Athletics Championship on the 9th of February 2017. During the final that took place in İstanbul Ataköy, Brume left behind Turkish record-holder Nimet Karakuş completing the race in 6.79 seconds.

With support from EMU, Ese Brume is preparing for the “University Athletics Competition” and the “World Championships” set to take place between the 5th and 13th of August in London.

Ese Brume is also preparing for the “2020 Tokyo Olympics”. Brume finished the 2016 Rio Olympics in fifth place with a jump of 6.81 m. She is also the 2015 African Long Jump Champion and the 2014 Commonwealth Champion. The Nigerian athlete is being shown a lot of interest in Istanbul both by the media and other athletes. Ese Brume and Hasan Maydon are expected to continue their training in Istanbul until the 13th of February.
