EMU Becomes the Most Preferred University within TRNC

According to 2014 Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) results, a total of 2029 students have been placed to Eastern Mediterranean University.  According to EMU Rector’s Office, there has been an increase of 15% in the number of students placed into Eastern Mediterranean University in 2014, making the university the most preferred one within TRNC.

A total of 7925, students 25,6 % of whom were placed into EMU, have been admitted into TRNC universities in general. More specificly, 1431 students were placed into undergraduate programs and 598 to associate programs.

It is estimated that after the students enrolling in Eastern Mediterranean University through vertical transfer exam, the special skills tests and additional quota placement results,  around 2800-3000 new students from the Republic of Turkey will register at EMU, thanks to effective promotional strategies, high quality education and accreditations obtained.

Expressing the university administration’s happiness with the number of newly placed students, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Abdullah Öztoprak stated that during the last 4 years, there has been an increase of 200% in the number of students placed into Eastern Mediterranean University. Rector Prof. Dr. Abdullah Öztoprak  also put forth that along with the noteworthy increase in the number of registrations from the Republic of Turkey, the university is expecting between 800 and 1000 registrations from the TRNC and between 2500 and 3000 from third countries. In this respect, between 6000 and 6500 new students are expected to enrol in EMU during the current academic year.
