Saygı Duruşu ve İstiklal Marşı’nın ardından konuşan DAÜ Rektör Yardımcısı ve Çalıştay Yürütücüsü Prof. Dr. Bekir Özer çalıştaya katılan herkese hoşgeldiniz diyerek çalıştayda eğitim programları ve öğretim terimlerinin alanında uzman kişilerce ele alınacağına dikkat çekti.
Eastern Mediterranean University, in collaboration with the Association of Educational Programs and Teaching, hosted a workshop on “Term Unity” in the field of Educational Programs and Teaching at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center between 25 and 27 March 2016.
45 academic staff members from 25 universities within Turkey and North Cyprus attended the three-day event during which discussions on terms peculiar to educational programs and teaching field took place. During the official opening of the event which commenced with a moment of silence and the national anthem, Vice Rector for Administrative Affairs and Workshop Coordinator Prof. Dr. Bekir Özer welcomed all participants to the workshop during which educational programs and related terms went under the inspection of prominent researchers each of whom are professionals in the area.
Following Prof. Dr. Özer’s speech, Chair of the Association of Educational Programs and Teaching Prof. Dr. Özcan Demirel expressed his best wishes for a productive workshop which would yield positive outcomes in the field.
EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam also delivered a speech and welcomed all participants. , Expressing his pleasure in hosting educational experts in EMU, Prof. Dr. Osam also provided detailed information about Eastern Mediterranean University with a specific focus on accreditations. Putting forth that the term issue in education is an indispensable part of a language, Prof. Dr. Osam wished all participants a fruitful workshop. During the opening of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Demirel presented a plaque of appreciation to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Osam for his support to the workshop.
Following the opening addresses, Assist. Prof. Dr. Tayyibe Uç delivered a presentation entitled “The Issue of Terms in Turkish Language” and Prof. Dr. Bekir Özer talked about “The Terminology Problem in the Field of Educational Programs and Teaching”. At the end of the workshop, adictionary containing terms upon which experts have reached an agreement will be developed.
The workshop ended on 27 March 2016 with the distribution of certificates of participation to the attendees.
