On behalf of Eastern Mediterranean University Rector’s Office, Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Ülker Vancı Osam, Student Council chair İbrahim Öztürk and former Student Council chair are paying a visit to Soma.
Due to the tragic event which took place in Soma on 13 May 2014, Eastern Mediterranean University cancelled the Spring Festival and launched an aid campaign for those affected by the mining disaster. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Osam will be visiting various state offices and give information regarding EMU’s aid campaign and scholarship opportunities.
EMU Rector’s Office is also granting unconditional scholarships covering educational fees and accomodation for new students who have lost their fathers in the mining disaster. The scholarships will be valid for all programs, excluding the joint program. The aid campaign launched by Eastern Mediterranean University will be transferred to relevant bodies with the guidance of the Republic of Turkey.
