EMU Tourism Faculty, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department in “Sirha İstanbul 2015”

Eastern Mediterranean University, Tourism Faculty, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department attended “SİRHA İstanbul 2015”, the benchmark event for hospitality and food service professionals in Turkey. Over 300 participants and 12,000 guests both from Turkey and the rest of the world attended the event which took place between 26 and 28 November 2015.

Dean of Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç stated that SİRHA İstanbul 2015 is targeted towards sectoral professionals, investors and decision makers. Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç  added that along with its commercial and cultural aspects, the event also hosts leading chefs and those involved in the sector. Prof. Dr. Kılıç also put forth that the said event was a unique opportunity to meet the elite in national and international gastronomy. 

During the event, the very best culinary talents of Turkey will compete to represent the country in the European continental selection to be held in May 2016 in Budapest before the 2017 final of the Bocuse d’Or held in Lyon.

Prof. Dr. Kılıç also added that during the said organisation, CMP Turkey will be held and the winning team will go to the European Cup 2016 major step for the finale in 2017. The President of the competition will be Aylin Yazıcıoğlu, Pastry Chef in Nicole Restaurant, Istanbul.

Prof. Dr. Kılıç stated that the event will also host master-classes of famous international and local chefs and conferences by leading names. Stressing the importance of participating in events as such, Prof. Dr. Kılıç added that by attending the event, their students will have the opportunity to meet leading names in the profession.
