Banking and Finance Master's Program (with Thesis) (M.S., 1 - 2 Years)

The Master of Science (M.S.) program in Banking and Finance is designed to equip graduate students with specialized analytical skills applicable to their professional interests in corporate finance, investment appraisal/cost-benefit analysis, project finance, financial risk management, commercial and investment banking, international finance, and financial economics. The graduate students may earn their M.S. degree in Banking and Finance in two ways: With thesis or non-thesis option. With thesis option, students take four core courses plus three elective courses and a master’s thesis. With the non-thesis option, students take five core courses plus the completion of a further five elective courses and a term paper. In addition to the MS degree, the program has strong and established international collaborations. Department of Banking and Finance has an agreement with the John Deutsch International Executive Programs of Queen’s University (Canada) that enable graduate students to earn the Queen’s University Certificate in Investment Appraisal and Risk Analysis while studying at EMU. This is a renowned professional certificate in the area of investment appraisal that graduate students can obtain while studying at Eastern Mediterranean University. By taking three courses from the discipline of investment appraisal at EMU, students qualify to take the Queen’s University comprehensive examination in this field at EMU, and if successful, then are awarded this professional certification.

Admission Requirements

Applicants are expected to satisfy general admission requirements of the Institute. Applicants to the MS program should have undergraduate degree with a CGPA greater than 2.5 / 4.
