Anna Marangou Delivers a Presentation at Architecture Faculty and INTBAU Cyprus Joınt Event

The International Network for Traditional Building, Architecture & Urbanism (INTBAU) and Eastern Mediterranean University, Architecture Faculty hosted a seminar which was delivered by Anna Marangou, who describes herself as “a stubborn archaeologist and art historian”.

Having attracted a crowded group of architecture students, research assistants and academic staff, the seminar took place under the main title of “Repairing the Past Makes the Future Stronger”.

Marangou’s talents are beyond being an archaeologist and art historian as she helps Cypriots understand and appreciate their real history, shedding light on the beauty and value of their monuments and their bonds to both the East and the West.

In her presentation, Marangou provided information on the restoration process of the Famagusa Gate and Ebu Bekir Bath, its transformation into a museum,   and its former and present condition. Marangou provided lots of examples and also shared the difficulties encountered during the said process.

Following a closing address delivered by Chair of  INTBAU Cyprus and Dean of EMU Architecture Faculty Prof. Dr. Özgür Dinçyürek, Anna Marangou was presented a certificate of appreciation and a poster of the event.
