Eastern Mediterranean University athlete Tuğba Aydın has become the champion of Turkey in triple jump category in “2016 Athletics İstanbul Indoor Championships” which took place at İstanbul Aslı Çakır Alptekin Athletism Hall. With a score of 12.95 metres, Aydın not only became the champion of Turkey but also gained the right to take part in Balkans Competitions.
EMU Sports Affairs Director Cemal Konnolu expressed his pleasure in Aydın’s success, which was achieved after a long and tiring training period under the supervision of her trainer Hasan Maydon.
During the previous weeks, EMU athlete Tuğba Aydın Tuğba Aydın put her name under a successful achievement by scoring a 12.91 point triple jump in Turkey Adults Athletism Championship nominations which took place at Nicosia Atatürk Stadium.
Aydın stated that she spent great effort in reaching this success, which was not easy to achieve. Aydın also thanked EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam, EMU Sports Affairs Director Cemal Konnolu and her trainer Hasan Maydon for their support.
