Eastern Mediterranean University Pharmacy Faculty produced the faculty’s first graduates during the 2015-2016 Academic Year Spring Semester Graduation Ceremony which took place on 28 June 2016. Faculty of Pharmacy also organised an oath ceremony for graduating students at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, 27 June 2016.
Commencing with a moment of silence and the national anthem, the ceremony continued with EMU Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. Mustafa Fethi Şahin’s opening address. Dean Prof. Dr. Mustafa Fethi Şahin expressed the faculty’s pride in bringing up the first graduates. Adding that their faculty started its educational activities five years ago, Prof. Dr. Şahin put forth that EMU Faculty of Pharmacy boasts the highest number of students among faculties of pharmacy within the region.
Following Şahin’s address, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam delivered a speech and congratulated the students and academic staff members of Faculty of Pharmacy. Highlighting the importance of pharmaceutics, Prof. Dr. Osam told the students that following their graduation, they will face the actual challenges of life. At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Osam thanked the graduating students for choosing EMU.
During the oath ceremony, 15 pharmacists recited their oaths to serve humanity, and support their professional ideals and committment. After the oath ceremony, students were presented their certificates by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Mustafa Fethi Şahin, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy Assist. Prof. Dr. Hayrettin Ozan Gülcan, academic staff members Prof. Dr. Gönül Şahin and Assist. Prof. Dr. Hasip Cem Özyurt.
Vice Rector for International Relations and Promotion Prof. Dr. Hasan Amca, academic staff members, students and families also attended the ceremony which finished with a cocktail.
