EMU Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School Organised Community Involvement Projects

Eastern Mediterranean University Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School continues to organise community involvement projects aiming to raise public awareness towards social issues. Coordinator of the Community Involvement Projects Mutlu Soykurt organised a colorful event at Cyprus Turkish Child Protection Organisation in collaboration with Cyprus Turkish Aerobics and Kangoo Jumps Association. Around 60 children with ages ranging between 5 and 13 enjoyed the Kangoo Jumps activity which took place under the supervision of Kangoo Jumps trainers Tatiana Petrica Demiralp, Levent Demiralp, Bilge Okta, Havva Okta, Halil Günce and İpek Yemenicioğlu Kutruza. Chair of the Cyprus Turkish Child Protection Organisation Ayşe Coşar expressed her pleasure in hosting activities as such and thanked everyone who supported the project. Students who took part in the activity were awarded certificates.

On the other hand, clothes and food items donated under the coordinatorship of EMU Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School Community Involvement Project entitled “Happiness Everywhere” Mutlu Soykurt were delivered to families in need in Famagusta, Kyrenia and Nicosia.  

Another community involvement project organised within the operations of Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School was the visit paid to the Association of Cyprus Turkish Orthopedically Disabled by Mutlu Soykurt, Cemaliye Soğancı and a group of students.

During the visit chair of the Cyprus Turkish Orthopedically Disabled Association Günay Kibrit, Algım Special Education Center Director Pelil Aykut Khalil and members of the association talked to students and provided information about their operations and activities. At the end of the visit, students handed over the plastic bottle caps collected at EMU Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School for the purpose of obtaining a wheel chair for the association.
