EMU Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department Hosted the Director of Arsal Foods Hüseyin Arsal

Within the framework of the food and beverage services course, Eastern Mediterranean University, Tourism Faculty, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts freshman year students hosted the director of Arsal Foods Ltd. Hüseyin Arsal.

Arsal talked about the importance of logistical support they have been providing for the food and beverage sector in Northern Cyprus and stated that they endeavor to take the customer satisfaction to the highest level possible by catering for their changing needs, demands and conditions.  Arsal also added that their business has been operating with an understanding of ‘total quality management’ and its main principle ‘the development of the individual is the development of the society’.

Arsal put forth that with the aim of attracting more customers by providing high quality services and increasing the market share and competitiveness of their business, they have been producing an array of food items such as pickles, jam, syrup, halvah,  honey,  molasses, olives and olive oil in line with HACCP and hygiene regulations. Stating that their business has great popularity in various establishments in the tourism sector such as hotels, motels, holiday villages, restaurants, cafes and bars, Arsal invited the students to their factory to observe the production stages of each product.

At the end of the event, Acting Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç thanked faculty member   Hüseyin Mirillo  and ARSAL Ltd. Director Hüseyin Arsal for the organisation of the event which supported the students’ knowledge on food production in line with hygiene rules and principles.
