Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Health Sciences Faculty, Nutrition and Dietetics Department academic staff member Prof. Dr. H. Tanju Besler attended the “9th World Congress on Prevention of Diabetics and its Complications” hosted by the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, USA. Prof. Dr. Besler who was invited as a speaker gave two talks titled “Effect of chocolate on cognitive function and mood” and “Implementation of a balanced nutrition education program in schools”.
Health Sciences Faculty, Nutrition and Dietetics Department academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emine Yıldız attended the “Patient Monitoring Handbook for Dietician Weight Management Workshop” that took place in Ankara. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Health of Turkey of Turkey, Public Health Institution, Department of Obesity, Diabetics and Metabolic Diseases. The workshop was attended by a large number of academicians from many different universities and included group work regarding the creation of a Patient Monitoring Handbook for Dietician Weight Management. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emine Yıldız is going to play a big role in the writing of the section “Nutritional Counseling Program for individuals with Type 2 Diabeties”.
