Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) has signed a protocol with famous water bottling companies EVSU and Gürpınar to have the EMU logo imprinted on the labels of the water bottles sold within the campus (excluding some private dormitories).
For each bottle sold with the EMU logo present, some of the funds will be donated towards the Universities Social Welfare Fund. The social welfare fund is meant to help students who are unable to pay off their university tuition fees.
The project was launched with the aim of contributing to the Universities Corporate Identity as well as control the quality of the water the students consume.
EMU Canteen and Cafeteria Supervisor Fırat Çırak has stated that EMU will analyse the water that the bottles contain periodically in order to maintain a high level of water quality that is consumed by the students. Water Cups, .33, .50, 1.5 and 19 litre bottles of water all contain the University logo and are distributed to all Café’s Canteens Tea Shops and wooden kiosks around the campus.
