Eastern Mediterranean University was represented by EMU Arts and Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Rza Bashirov at the 10th meeting of the Faculties of Health and Sciences Deans’ Council hosted by Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.
Prof. Dr. Bashirov stated that during FEFKON meetings, the place and role of Arts and Sciences Faculties in higher education, accreditations and recognitions, students’ recruitment and all other topics related with the problems regarding the development of Arts and Sciences Faculties are covered in a wide perspective.
Prof. Dr. Bashirov also added that during the aforesaid meeting which was attended by 80 deans, important decisions which will contribute to the development of Arts and Sciences Faculties were taken. Prof. Dr. Bashirov stated that the Turkish Republic Ministry of Education, Ministry of Family and Social Policies, Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and TUBİTAK will be awarding scholarships for students who fulfill the specified criteria.
Prof. Dr. Bashirov finally put forth that in order to establish a balance between the number of graduates and employment capacities, the Turkish Board of Higher Education will work on limiting the opening of new programs which would serve the same student profile.
