Famous luthier Orhan Ümmetler gave a seminar to the students of Eastern Mediterranean University Education Faculty, Fine Arts Education Department, Music Teaching Program.
Along with making stringed instruments, Luthier Ümmetler also repairs and maintains musical instruments. During the seminar, Ümmetler provided information on materials for making guitars, famous guitar makers as well as the maintenance and protection of guitars. Ümmetler also presented the latest guitar he produced to the participants.
Ümmetler is currently working on a guitar to be awarded to the winner of “The International Nilüfer Classic Guitar Competition” in Bursa in April. He will also be giving a seminar within the framework of the 2nd International İstanbul Guitar Festival during the upcoming days.
Following his visit to EMU Fine Arts Education Department, Ümmetler expressed his happiness in seeing youngsters’ interest towards learning. At the end of the event, Fine Arts Education Chair Assist. Prof. Dr. Başak Gorgoretti presented a bouquet to Ümmetler for his contributions to the event.
