"Preparations for the New Season in Water Sports" Were Discussed in EMU "Environment and Human" Program

Eastern Mediterranean University Arts and Sciences Faculty, Biological Sciences academic staff member and Underwater Research and Imaging Center Chair Assist. Prof. Dr. Burak Ali Çiçek and  Deep Dive Diving Center Director Erol Adalıer talked about “Preparations for the New Season in Water Sports” in “Environment and Human” program.

At the beginning of the program, Erol Adalıer gave information about the projects that took place during the winter season. Adalıer talked about his team’s involvement in the work carried out  following the oil spill by AKSA. Talking about his team’s plans about the upcoming summer season, Adalıer claimed that most of the people doing water sports are not well-informed about the details. Adalıer also suggested that prior to the summer season, relevant training should be delivered regarding the water sports.

Erol Adalıer also talked about ongoing preparations for the summer season at EMU Beach Club.  Adalıer stated that “A Turtle Rehabilitation Center” will be opened at EMU Beach Club. At the rehabilitation center which will also serve as a turtle hospital, turtles will be closely observed. Adalıer also gave information about EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Abdullah Y. Öztoprak’s and Vice Rector for International Relations and Administrative Affairs Prof. Dr. Majid Hashemipour’s support regarding the relevant project and the maintenance carried out on the facility which includes a fast ambulance track in case of emergency situations as well as a sea observation tower. Finally, Adalıer stated  that a brochure containing the rules and security measures to be applied when using the facility will be distributed to public who intend to benefit from EMU Beach Club.
