World Free Diving Champion Devrim Cenk Ulusoy arrived in the TRNC to carry out his specific performance tests at Eastern Mediterranean University Health Sciences Faculty. After his arrival at EMU Health Sciences Faculty, Ulusoy obtained successful results from the body composition and basal metabolism tests. Following the aforesaid tests, Ulusoy went through another set of detailed tests, namely, the resting EKG, breathing function test, inner mouth pressure measurements, maximal oxygen consumption, treadmill exercise test, vertical jumping, dynamic balance and muscle power and endurance tests through conducted through isotechnic equipment.
Vice Dean of EMU Health Sciences Faculty and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department Chair Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoç and Health Sciences Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Hülya Harutoğlu who both supervised the implementation of the tests stated their pleasure in hosting the world free diving champion at EMU. The dean and vice dean also stated that EMU is the first institution conducting such detailed tests within TRNC.
Ulusoy stated his pleasure in choosing EMU for the advanced level performance tests he had to carry out prior to his record trial and added that he already enrolled in EMU Sports Sciences Department to continue his education at Eastern Mediterranean University.
Following the completion of the tests, Ulusoy visited EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Abdullah Y. Öztoprak in his office. During the visit, Ulusoy expressed his appreciation of the positive developments in EMU. After Ulusoy, Prof. Dr. Öztoprak provided detailed information about EMU with a special focus on the accreditations gained during recent years.
