EMU Architecture Department Students Carry Out Design / Implement Project

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Architecture, Architecture Department students carried out a Design / Implement project within the scope of their summer internship as a result of a collaboration between Yeniboğaziçi Municipality and the Union of the Chambers of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects. The project was carried out with students and academic staff members from the Architecture Department of Turkey’s MEF University. The public interest project was developed to meet the requirements of Yeniboğaziçi Municipality Public Beach.  The project featured a kiosk, semi-enclosed space, lifeguard tower, beach beds, hammocks and seating units.

Yeniboğaziçi Mayor Mustafa Zurnacılar, EMU Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Sonuç Zorlu Oğurlu, Faculty of Architecture Dean Özgür Dinçyürek and Architecture Department Chair Prof. Dr. Resmiye Alpar Atun attended the closing event of the project where they obtained the opportunity to closely examine the designs. Many students and academic personnel were also present at the highly attended event.
