EMU Biological Sciences Department Introduces a New Master’s Program

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Biological Sciences Department has introduced a new Master’s Program without thesis under the title of “Medical Biotechnology”. A presentation regarding the new master’s program was delivered at EMU Campus at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 15 May 2019. Delivered by EMU Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Biological Sciences Chair Prof. Dr. Bahar Taneri Güder,  the presentation was also attended by EMU Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Özarslan, EMU Institute for Graduate Studies and Research Director Prof. Dr. Ali Hakan Ulusoy, academic staff members and students.

Extensive Career Opportunities

During the presentation, general information about Medical Biotechnology, which is an important area in the diagnosis and treatment of human diseases, was provided. In addition, detailed information about career opportunities of the graduates, program curricula and conditions of application were given. Graduates of the program have a wide range of career opportunities, including various positions in the biotechnology sector, diagnostic and molecular laboratories, and the pharmaceutical industry. The 1-year program consists of a total of 10 courses.Students with a bachelor's degree in molecular biology and genetics or other similar fields can apply to the program. The Republic of Turkey Higher Education Council (YOK) certified Medical Biotechnology program also offers scholarship opportunities for students.
