Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) has been awarded the "Higher Education Brand of the Year" at the 2nd Golden Caretta Awards, which was held under the collaboration of Cyprus Turkish Businesspeople Association and Saygın Medya. At the ceremony held at Les Ambassadeurs Hotel, the main sponsor of the event, on Tuesday 18 January 2022, member of the Board of Trustees Ersun Kutupand Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu received the award on behalf of EMU.
Around 35 Awards Distributed
During the event, in which successful names and institutions from both the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) were deemed worthy of awards, approximately 35 awards were presented to the winners. At the ceremony, famous names including İrem Derici, Çetin Altay, Ahmet Selçuk İlkan, Ahmet Kural, Uğur Aslan, Genco Ecer, Vahe Kılıçarslan, Macit Sonkan, Gülhan Tekin, Erten Gazi, Yeliz Doğramacılar, Polen Emre, Sibel Taşçıoğlu Köstendil, Tuğba Sarıünsal, and Kahraman Tazeoğlu were also present. In his speech at the ceremony, the Founding President of the Golden Caretta Awards, Saygın Kurt, noted that the organization will be much more effective and productive in the future. Merve Akıncı and YDA Dalaman Airport General Manager Cengiz Ayaz were the presenters at the event.
