Organized by Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Communication and sponsored by North Cyprus Turkcell, the public voting for the Golden Crow New Media Awards ended on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 11:59 p.m.. Candidates have been determined by EMU Communication Faculty, North Cyprus Turkcell, Cyprus Turkish Journalists Association, Cyprus Turkish Foreign Press Association and Basın-Sen, and a public vote was held on 12 May 2021.
More than 45 Thousand Votes Were Cast
More than 45,000 votes were cast in the public voting. Organizing the Golden Crow New Media Awards, which was held for the first time this year, EMU Communication Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Senih Çavuşoğlu stated that they are very pleased with the interest and participation. Prof. Dr. Çavuşoğlu stated that the candidates in all categories are already successful in their own branches and that the public appreciates these achievements with their participation. Prof. Dr. Çavuşoğlu thanked both the representatives of the new media who were involved in this beautiful and meaningful process by accepting to be a candidate, and those who voted for the Golden Crow New Media Awards, held for the first time.
Winners of the EMU Golden Crow New Media Awards will be announced at the grand ceremony to be held at the EMU Beach Club on Friday evening, 9 July 2021, and the Golden Crow figurines will be presented to their owners. At the ceremony where all participants will be invited, the “COVID-19 Award”, “EMU Member Award” and “The Most Popular Turkish Cypriot Celebrity in New Media Award” will also be presented.
